When your first visit is made, within a couple of days you should receive our patient forms in the mail or you can print them from this website. Please fill out these forms and bring them to your first appointment. Also, please bring your insurance card if effective. If you have not received or completed these forms prior to your appointment, please arrive 15 minutes earlier to do so.
Your initial examination will last approximately one hour. This visit will help us get acquainted with each other. In this hour, Dr. McDade will review and discuss your medical and dental history along with any concerns and desires you have. There will be a full mouth series of x-rays taken (18 films). The doctor will also perform a thorough and complete visual examination. This radiographic and visual examination includes an oral cancer screening, an evaluation of disease affecting your teeth, gums and bone, and an evaluation of your TMJ, bite, and smile characteristics. After all documentation is compiled, Dr. McDade will develop a diagnosis and treatment plan designed according to your specific needs. All treatment alternatives will be discussed thoroughly. Then appointments can be scheduled to address your needs. A cleaning appointment can be scheduled at the same time if not already done.
